About The Palm House
Situated in the South of Liverpool, Sefton Park is a grade I English heritage site, once known as the “Hyde Park of the North”, where you will find the Palm House! Filled floor to ceiling with exotic plants, this three tiered glass dome conservatory is a popular venue for weddings and balls all year round! Its design was inspired by Joseph Paxton’s glass houses, and in each of its 8 corners you can find statues by Leon-Joseph Chavalliaud. However, the Palm House hasn’t had such a pretty past, notably with the damage it received in 1941 during the Blitz! Again in 1980’s, the Palm House went into a period of decline, closing temporarily. Luckily, thanks to its second restoration in 1993, we can enjoy the beauty of this glass conservatory once again!
